Zach Davis, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Davis has been studying natural killer cell biology and their control of cancer and viruses for more than 15 years. His research has focused on harnessing natural killer cells as an immunotherapy though the use of genetically modified, induced pluripotent stem-cell (iPSC) derived natural killer cells or tri-specific killer engagers (TriKEs) to target solid and liquid tumors as well as viruses such as HIV. Dr. Davis is also the director of the Translational Therapy Laboratory which provides sample processing, storage and analysis for clinical trials as well as University of Minnesota researchers.
