Joseph M. Muretta PhD. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics. Dr. Muretta’s laboratory utilizes approaches in protein biochemistry and structural biophysics to investigate molecular mechanisms of disease and engineer protein therapeutics. As a member of the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center, Dr. Muretta leads the Antibody Engineering Shared Resource (AESR) to assist University of Minnesota investigators in the development of novel antibodies and antibody-derived protein sequences. Scientists in AESR provide consultation on the design of antibody engineering campaigns, expertise and services for expressing and purifying recombinant antigens, and the identification and characterization of lead antibody candidates for pre-clinical studies.
