Proposal Development

Research proposal preparation and submission support is provided to Investigators whose grants are housed in the Masonic Cancer Center. The MCC Research Development team partners with faculty, trainees, and administrators to develop and submit competitive grant proposals. Our team enhances overall proposal quality by ensuring applicants meet sponsor guidelines and by improving the content, organization and visual appeal of proposal packages.

Proposal development services offered include:

  • Ensuring adherence to and interpreting of proposal guidelines
  • Constructing proposal budgets and provide boilerplate language and templates
  • Formatting proposal documents
  • Coordinating with internal and external collaborators
  • Completing and obtaining signatures on institutional routing forms

To request use of these services for a specific proposal below complete the Intent to Submit Form below.

Intent to Submit a Proposal

Please submit your intent form a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the agency’s application deadline or 8 weeks prior if proposal includes a subcontract(s). This applies to all types of proposals (new, resubmissions, renewals, internal awards, subcontracts, etc.), and to all agencies, foundations, and companies.

The use of the intent form gives our team the information we need to complete internal SPA documents and provide you with a proposal submission schedule, a draft budget, and a proposal component checklist.

The proposal submission schedule we set is dependent on several variables including SPA deadlines, complexity of the proposal, current pre-award workload, PI travel/commitments, etc.

Please note that the latest possible deadlines are given to the earliest received intent forms when multiple proposals are being processed simultaneously. So submit your intent forms early!
