Members of this program focus on three areas: The biology of tumor growth and survival, prostate cancer development and treatment, and development of novel therapies to improve the treatment of various cancers of the blood and bone, and solid tissue tumors.
Vickers elected to Institute of Medicine
Selwyn Vickers, M.D., has been elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. Vickers, a nationally renowned leader in pancreatic cancer research, is associate director of translational research for the Masonic Cancer Center, and he is Jay Phillips Professor and chair of the Department of Surgery in the Medical School. Institute of Medicine membership is awarded to those who have contributed significantly to medical sciences, health care, and public health.
